How to Work at Home
Thursday, April 24th, 2008Working online at home? Sounds good, doesn’t it? No boss breathing down your neck, no commuting in heavy traffic, no tedious staff meetings and no-one to tick you off if you’re five minutes late. You even get to choose the brand of coffee you drink! Yet, for all its benefits, there are a few downsides, such as distractions from family and friends, self-discipline and loneliness. I have been working at home for about five years, and I would not want to return to working for someone else. But it can be a tricky transition to make from employment to self-employment. In particular, if you have an online business and you are not getting out of the house and meeting people you can miss the buzz of being with others all day.
